by: The In Our Words Writing Staff
As In Our Words approaches our first anniversary next month, we are taking this week to look back at the past year and some of the pieces that represent the stories, narratives and experiences that have been shared with us. Although we can’t publish every single piece or author from our catalogue, we hope this will help pay tribute to the many incredible writers, poets, essayists, authors, performers and activists we’ve been fortunate enough to work with. In our first full year as a site, we’ve worked to showcase perspectives across the spectrum of queer, trans and allied identities and it is our hope that this retrospective will highlight that. Each day will feature six pieces on a particular topic or theme, and these will include “Dating,” “Coming Out,” “Body Positivity” and “Poetry.” Thanks for following us and we hope you will continue to join us in our next year of covering all things queer.
